Right, today I went and gave my blood sample to get a base level reading prior to any steroid usage. The reasons for the tests were so I can ensure everything is as it should be post cycle. I might do a test while on the cycle to see how the values vary.
It meant I couldn't eat after 12 midnight the day before (basically ensure you miss breakfast).
I used The Doctor Ltd (which seems to be a common choice with other steroid users who don't want to go through their doctor). My reasons for not using my doctor were as follows:
# So as not to affect any job opportunities in the future
# There would be no mentioned of steroid usage on my record to prevent me getting medical health insurance in the future
Having said that, if I had any symptoms that meant I should disclose steroid usage to my doctor, then I shall probably do so in the future (unless I decide to go private).
On the form that I was supplied (you need to take this along with you) it had noted that I would be taking the following profiles and tests:
1) DL2L
2) TESTOSTERONE (TEST)
3) THYROID PROFILE 1 (TF)
4) OESTRADIOL (OEST)
I have previously mentioned that I was thinking about getting my Free Testosterone levels mentioned. However, work has been particularly busy recently, and I haven't had a chance to get the form amended prior to the blood test, so I just stuck with it.
"The Doctors Laboratory" as it's named, is located at 55 Wimpole Street, London W1G 8YL. It's only one street down from Harley Street so not far from the other Harley practitioners (and in a smart area).

Once inside the reception area is very well presented, although I was in there for less than a minute I would have said.

Once taken through to the blood test room, I sat on a chair while the nurse found a suitable vein in my arm. Not having had an injection for a while I was a little apprehensive, but it popped in fine and out came the blood.

When I previously gave blood it took forever as I had low blood pressure (I was donating blood and other donators were flying in and out while I sat there for ages trying to make the blood come out).
A number of viles were filled up - I forget exactly how many, but I suspect one for each test I was having done. The nurse did look a little puzzled when I mentioned I was going to take a photo for my blog!
All-in-all I was probably in and out in less that 15 minutes.
Anyway, now I just have to sit back and relax and wait for the results!
